Flowers have a language of their own. They convey expressions of gratitute, good wishes, friendly sentiments, love & even apologies. In different cultures, flowers have different shades of meaning.

For example, avoid sending full white flowers to a Chinese, who will consider them harbingers of bad luck & death.

For most American & British, white is the colour of purity, wedding and first communions. Americans, across the country, still favor red & white for funeral.

Among Italians, white Chrysanthemums are only for funeral. For French, white carnations. For Malaysian, frangipani signify ill fortune.

In Singapore, white, yellow, blue & purple flowers is acceptable to send to local chinese's funeral. Generally, younger generation like white rose, tulip and lily, baby's breath to go with their favourite flowers.
